Yance Ford

Yance Ford is an award-winning director and producer based in New York City. His feature documentary POWER premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, going on to screen at festivals domestically and abroad.

Ford’s film STRONG ISLAND won the 2017 Sundance U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award, the Gotham Award for Best Documentary, and was nominated for the Best Documentary Feature at the 90th Academy Awards®. STRONG ISLAND went on to win the Primetime Emmy for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Film and was nominated for a George Foster Peabody Award.

Ford is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Directors Guild of America. He is set to direct TWO BUTTERFLIES starring Viola Davis, produced by JuVee Productions and Rainforest Entertainment, and is in development on several projects, both documentary and scripted.
